Chip Freed, MD, Testimony about DOH & PFOA

Chip Freed, MD, testifies in a public hearing that the government has historically minimized concerns over health and environmental toxins and that it should adopt a precautionary approach and monitoring program.

Freed uses examples including the Love Canal incident and the Hoosick Falls water contamination to demonstrate how the CEH and DOH have minimized concern over potential environmental and health threats. He explains that the current approach is insufficient to protect people from harm and that they should adopt the precautionary principle in order to protect people from exposures to toxins.
